Sinus Creek: the terms

These terms cover Sinus Creek, the EKG rhythm game, wherever you play it: on the web at sinuscreek.netlify.app or as an app. By playing it you agree to what is below. They are short because the game asks very little of you.

Who makes it

Sinus Creek is made by OxidativeRN in partnership with Data Divers LLC. "We" on this page means the two of us.

What you get

The game is free during the beta. After it goes to the App Store, the first few pools will be free and the entire game will be $5, with no subscription and no advertising. There is no account and no login. Your progress is kept on your device, so deleting the app or clearing the browser's storage deletes it, and we have no copy to give back. What the game sends us, and how to turn it off, is in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

Not medical advice

This is the one that matters most. Sinus Creek is a teaching game. It is not a cardiac monitor, it is not a diagnostic tool, and nothing in it is medical advice. The rhythms are drawn to teach recognition, and they are simplified on purpose: there is no twelve lead view, no artifact from a loose lead or a shivering patient, and no drug doses.

Never use the game, or anything it says, to make a decision about a real patient, including yourself. Follow your facility's protocols, your training and the clinicians responsible for the patient in front of you. If someone may be having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.

Acceptable use

Play it, learn from it and share the link with anyone you like. Do not copy and redistribute the game, scrape or repackage its content, present it as your own, or try to break, overload or attack the game or the service it reports to.

Our content

The game's code, art, writing, music and rhythm drawings are ours and are protected by copyright. Playing gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the game for your own learning. It does not grant any right to resell or redistribute it, or to train AI systems on it.

Availability

We work to keep the game running, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or unchanged. Pools, rhythms and features may be added, rebuilt or removed as the game improves.

Limitation of liability

The game is provided as is. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from using it, and our total liability for anything related to it is limited to the amount you paid us for it, which during the beta is nothing.

Some places do not allow these limits. Where you have stronger consumer protections, those apply and override anything inconsistent above.

Changes to these terms

We will update this page when something material changes, and the date below moves forward when we do. If the price or what it covers changes, these terms will say so here before it goes on sale.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute we cannot settle by talking will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
