Privacy
Your study data stays on your device. The Lantern Sea: Tales of the Second Wind keeps your progress, your practice history, your readiness stars, and your test date in this device's own storage. None of it is uploaded anywhere. There is no server holding a copy.

What the game stores, and where
On this device only: which cards you have played and how they went, your spaced-review schedule, your settings, your test and graduation dates if you chose to set them, and a random device id the game made up on first launch. That id is not your name, your email, or anything issued by your school or any board of nursing.
The game also keeps a local queue of play events (which mechanic ran, how a card resolved) so that a future update can offer you insights about your own studying. Today that queue never leaves the device, because there is nowhere for it to go.
What leaves your device
Nothing, in normal play. The game loads its own art, sound, and card content from the same place the app itself came from, and makes no other network requests.
If you write a bug report inside the game, it is saved on your device and copied for you as text. In the iPhone and Android apps it reaches us only if you choose to send it yourself. On the web version, logging it also sends it to us. Either way it contains what it shows you: your note, the screen you were on, your device id, your screen size, and your browser's name. Never your progress, your dates, or your answers.
Accounts and cloud save
The Lantern Sea currently has no accounts. If cloud save ships in a future update it will be optional, guest-first, and explained at the moment you turn it on: signing in would store your progress and, if you use an email code, your email address, so that your voyage can follow you to a new device. Until you do that, this policy's first sentence stands in full.
What the game does not do
No advertising, no trackers, no analytics services, no selling or sharing of data, no reading of your contacts, camera, microphone, or location. The game does not collect real patient information from anyone: every patient in it is fiction.
Erasing your data
Because everything lives on your device, you can erase it there: the Settings screen has a control that wipes this game's stored data from this device, and clearing this app's site data in your browser or phone settings does the same. Gone means gone; there is no server copy to linger.
What this game is
The Lantern Sea: Tales of the Second Wind is an independent study game. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). NCLEX, NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN are registered trademarks of NCSBN.
For exam study only. Nothing in this game is medical advice or a guide to caring for a real patient. Always follow your program, your facility's policy and a licensed provider.
