Sinus Creek: Support
A person reads everything that comes in. If the river is doing something wrong, or you think it taught you something wrong, that is worth hearing about and it is the fastest way it gets fixed.
The quickest way
In the game: Settings, then Report a snag. Type what happened and send it. It carries what you wrote, the screen you were on, which water you were running and your screen size, so nobody has to ask you what you were doing. It does not carry a name or an email, which also means there is no way to write back through it.
If you want an answer
Write to nubiochris@gmail.com. Most mail gets a reply within two business days.
Four things make it much easier to find:
- The pool or the reach, if you know it. "The Narrows 6" is enough.
- What the screen said, word for word if you can.
- Your phone or browser, and whether it is the app or the website.
- A screenshot, if there is anything to see.
There is no sound
Sound needs one tap before any browser or phone will let it start, so the first thing to try is tapping the screen once and then starting a run.
After that, open Settings. If something went wrong with the sound, there is a line at the top of that screen saying what: another app took it, the phone would not build it at all, or the music loaded and is not playing. That line is only there when something is actually wrong, so a phone with no line is a phone whose sound is working and turned down.
Two other things to check: the Sound switch in Settings, and the ring or silent switch on the side of an iPhone. And if you would rather play quietly, turn on Captions: every sound the game makes gets named in words as it happens.
Your progress vanished
Your river is kept on the device you played on, and nowhere else. There is no account, so nothing follows you from one phone to another, and the app and the website keep separate records even on the same device.
What erases it: clearing site data or website data for the site, uninstalling the app, or playing in a private or incognito window, which throws the record away when the window closes. If none of those happened and the record is still gone, write in. That is a bug and it matters.
What does it cost
Nothing. The whole river is free right now, every reach, in the app and on the web. There is nothing to buy inside it, no subscription and no advertising.
The Daily
Daily Rapids is the same water for everyone in the world on the same day. It is built from the date, so it cannot be rerolled, and finishing it is what extends a streak. Going over does not break the streak, and the day stays open, so you can go again.
You think an answer is wrong
Tell us, and name the pool. Every rhythm in the game is drawn from a published set of criteria and every treatment fork is written against ACLS, but a game that teaches has to be right, and the fastest corrections have all come from people who read strips for a living.
Reading it more easily
Settings carries Bigger text, which moves every word on every screen up one step, Bold signs, which puts heavier ink on every fork and makes sure nothing reads by colour alone, Calm water for less drift and spray, and Left thumb, which gathers both paddle grips into the left third of the screen so one thumb can brace.
What this is not
Sinus Creek is a teaching game. It is not a monitor, it is not a diagnostic tool, and it is not medical advice. It deliberately contains no drug doses. Nothing in it should be used to make a decision about a real patient.
Privacy and your data
What the game sends back, how to turn it off, and how to have it deleted are all on the privacy page. The short version: no account, no email, no ads, no trackers, and a switch in Settings that stops the rest.
Who makes it
Sinus Creek is made by OxidativeRN in partnership with Data Divers LLC. Written by a nurse, for the people who have to read the monitor at three in the morning.
